ARM (1995 - 2006)

ARM is the sound of passionate nerds, introvert storytellers and moody conductors. They gathered around a table while attentively turning knobs and pushing buttons on a pile of gadgets, as if hoping for it to come to life, to stand up and join them.

ARM melts music with one hand and makes new music with the other and throws it at you with the third! Starting in improvisation, ARM serves as a musical meeting point where anything can happen. Part lab and part playground, all plans are put aside and results become clear over time. So, when other musicians are invited to join, this becomes music of constant change.

What remains constant is the desire for experimentation and an inclusive approach to sound and noise. With this in mind, ARM can be described as musical relatives to acts such as Farmers Manual, Stillupsteypa, Supersilent, Boredoms and Black Dice.

ARM has throughout a number of concerts invited musicians to their Blisterpack Series; instrumentalists who meet ARM for improvisation, for testing of strength and common conspiring. Examples are Toshimaru Nakamura, Lasse Marhaug, John Hegre, Salvatore, Pål Asle Petersen, Håkon Kornstad, Tonny Kluften and Jørgen Træen.

Associated ARM members:
Are Mokkelbost, Arne Borgan, Alexander Rishaug, Øyvind Stoveland Berg, Marius Von Der Fehr, Chris Reddy and Steven Cuzner.
